Showing hat that meets safety standards?

Which society are you showing under? The new rule doesn't come into force until 2017 under BSPS rules - I think most societies are not enforcing until 2017.

Thanks all for your replies, I understand the new rulings but I wondered if anyone knew off hand of hats that will suit (yes I am being a tad lazy in this manner of asking instead of trawling through all the hats myself) :) looking to purchase one, so one that would still be suitable in 2017 would be fab! Any ideas?

Hi.

As far as I know the Charles Owen H2000, Wellington and Hampton will all still meet safety standards. The Fiona will not. Champion CPX3000 Deluxe also fits the bill.

Happy to be corrected, this is based on what I understand of the new rules.

Hi there, I have a just togs showjumper hat and have used it for showing up to county level, it looks beautiful and is so comfy. Added bonus is that they are up to the new standards and are a really good price.
Hope this is helpful.

Pleased to hear this as I have one of these that needs replacing and was dreading trying to find a new hat! X

Some of the county shows have their own rules which overrule the BSHA ones and at those shows you have to wear a hat with a harness. I have a Wellington or a Hampton (can't remember which). It wasn't easy to find as no one locally stocked these styles but I fortunately found one that someone had ordered and never collected.

Sorry to somewhat hijack just checked my showing hat (just togs junior showjumper) and I'm sure it isn't up to the new standard. Am I correct in saying I can no longer wear it when doing unaff showing that is run by the local pony club? I think it's only BD that aren't enforcing until 2017 but the majority of riding establishments, if under BHS means I can't wear it? Finding this so confusing and very costly...

Scrap that, according to the just togs website it is but my hat (only brought last year) doesn't have the PAS015 on the label....my head hurts....
