I know this question has probably been asked loads but here goes.

I own a 22yo TB x dark bay gelding and looking to compete at a local show at end of month. Veteran ridden, vet inhand and young handler (friend at yard will do this class).

He is ridden in a snaffle and have a vsd saddle, all black tack.

Question is what should I be wearing for showing? I have long leather boots (black),blue/grey hacking jacket, black show jacket and a variety of stocks and ties etc.

I am looking at getting a new velvet riding hat with leather straps but not sure what colour navy or black as also hoping to do dressage this year with him as well. Any advice would be greatly appricated.

long boots and your hacking jacket with a tie, not stock, navy hat. For in hand beige trousers short boots, hacking jacket again with a tie. Oh and a show cane, navy riding hat or tweed hat depending what suits you. NEVER show in hand with long boots.

Navy hat is better ;) (black is a bit severe looking) Long black boots, beige johds/breeches. Shirt & tie with tiepin. A hacking jacket is correct and brown gloves. No spurs for Veteran classes but you do carry a show cane. Hope this helps :)
