Totaly wrong I know :o

He has Black legs so I need light trousers.
But what sort of trousers?
What should I wear on my top half?
What should I wear on my feet?
and should I wear a hat?
Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to look like a compleat idiot in the ring. Theres going to be loads of quality foresters there and I don't want to let Herbs down :o
Please any help would be much appreceated. :)
Thankyou. x

Thanks I have looked on there. So my top half is ok. It says I should wear a hat, Does this mean my riding hat? or someother kind of hat? I've been tols my johds are wrong but on the site it says that is ok and it just says appropreate footwear  I'm so confused  I just know i'm going to look like a fool. As I've been told that photo is wrong but from how I read the site that could be the correct turnout
Maybe I'll try to google something and see if I can find pics and try to work it out from there.
God you wouldn't think inhand showing would be this hard. I can't wait till he's ready to be shown under saddle I just need brown leather tack. I think i'm turned out alright for ridden showing.

You should wear some pale coloured chords (or something similar) that way it shows the horses legs off to their best advantage likewise if the horse has white legs then you should wear black!

eBay is brilliant for cords- we got some lovely beige Boden ones for about £10. Looks very smart and correct. Then on your feet, some jodhpur boots- Al uses brown because it goes better, and she only has brown.

Laura, you're turned out beautifully for ridden showing, and you wouldn't look "wrong" dressed like that for in-hand. If you want to be truly correct, you should wear beige/cream trousers rather than jods. They don't have to be special "showing" trousers, a wander round M&S or Matalan should turn up a decent pair. Then, wear jod boots or clean & polished yard boots (which would be my choice, actually - my MT yard boots have a decent grippy sole, so are easier to run in than jod boots, and they polish up quite nicely).

You don't have to wear a hard hat, but again, I would. You see lots of people showing in-hand wearing bush hats and the like, which does look nice but considering you're showing a youngster, I think you'd be better off wearing your hard hat.

Apart from that, everything looks great and Herbs is lovely. You might want to do your tie up properly when you're in the ring ;-)

Thanks guys I think I get the idea now. :) Top half ok Bottom half Light cords and Jod boots Phew shouldn't be to hard to sort out by the end of July :D Just need to find Herbs a nice brown Bridle. (our local tack shop only seems to do Black or orange  and they all seem to have flashes :( )

trundle he's not a youngster, he's actualy 10 :o I got him a year and a half ago and he has been very difficult. He was a stallion till he was 7 and has had 6 other owners before me :( He has had so many issues bless him but i'm hoping to do some local ridden showing with him at the end of this season and then if that goes well some bigger shows with him next year. I'm not shore how he'll do as he's abit of a weaner (12.2hh) But I've been told he is a nice example of a forester and that some judges are on the lookout for quality smaller ones. So i'm hoping they won't hold his size against him. He's a forest bred aswell :)

Pale trousers, you can pick them up (in jean style/material straight cut leg, very smart) from M&S.

Brown paddock style boots or joddy boots.

Tweed jacket that you have, button your collar up and do your tie properly with a tie pin.

A tribly showing hat with a little feather in to match your jacket, dark brown to match your boots would be nice, you can pick these up off ebay, or if its really warm you could wear a tweed waist coat rather than the full jacket.

That's what I'd wear anyway.

Good luck, hope you do really well. :)

Thanks Kenzo. I'm rubbish at doing Ties up. Think I'll get someone to help me for the forest. A tie pin would prob be a good idea as they always seem to slip down when I do them like the one in the photo :o I just realy hope I don't let Herbs down.
