I never do showing but I’m having a bash! Straight in at county level ??

Is tweed ok? I will be using my monoflap jumping saddle because I’ve not got another, is this really bad or is it just a bit incorrect but ok?

Should I have a plain hunter bridle instead of my current PE padded cavesson comfort headpiece jobbie?

Coloured browband?

Thank you!

Is it a pony or a horse? If a horse you will have a ride judge so saddle not ideal but not worth buying a show saddle for a one off.

Turn out to type so if a hunter type then hunter bridle with broad flat cavesson with tweed for you.

if a hack/SP type coloured browband and navy for rider.

If Riding Horse type then coloured browband with tweed for you.

Is it a novice class?

My coloured lad was shown at County level as a NN coloured plaited with his previous owner. She had tweed, hunter style double bridle and a straight cut showing saddle.
So basically standard show hunter kit.

A forward cut saddle distracts the eye from the shoulder - it's amazing the difference it makes between a jump and a showing saddle to the impression of a good or weak shoulder. But obviously not worth changing your saddle for one show!

Turn out to type so SHP/Hunter or RH - Tweed, shirt and tie, Navy velvet hat, hair in bun (NO scrunchies unless you are 12) black boots and spurs if over 15hh. Horse in plain workmanlike brown bridle with cavesson noseband if SHP/Hunter, velvet colured browband if RH
Hack or Show Pony - Navy jacket & velvet hat, hair in bun (possibly scrunchie) shirt & tie finer bridle & velvet coloured browband. Spurs if over 15hh

Brown gloves and brown leather whip or cane.

Discreet brown numnah that fits the saddle
brown leather girth (possibly white if Hack/show pony and the horse's tummy is white)
