Anyone who could give me some pointers to pass onto friend, please?
She has an Andalusian x Luitano, which she wants to show in a general, not breed specific, show in hand.
She would like to know,as a part bred, shoud his mane be plaited or left loose/ running plait.
Any help much appreciated.

If it's an English showing class then full English show attire with English plaited horse, if iberian class they usually say in schedule with rules

for more info suggest you try bapsh on facebook, fantasticpage and very helpfully advice allroind for anything Iberian :).

I have a p/b Luso and he has his long mane and forelock, I consider them his crowning glory, without them he wouldn't look "proper". I do RC dressage, local level showing, Vetaran classes etc, I leave his mane long and unplaited, I have never been marked down for it, if anyone was to ask the I would explain that his breed is supposed to have a full mane. If I was doing "proper" show classes them I would definitely pull his mane a bit and try to plait it. It depends what type of showing your friend wants to do. :D :D
