Showing peeps - Opinions on this tweed jacket - yay or neigh??

its a nay from me it looks tacky to me personally sorry. Its not as bad as some of the pink overlay jackets but is still one of those ones that judges may not like and why risk it?

Take a look at the 'show gear for sale and wanted' Facebook group for a nice one secondhand or maybe the Shires Huntington range

Haflinger mare so palomino/light chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, foreign breeds class at the moment unless we can sneak into a M&M (very low level local show). No I am not a junior ha ha! I do have a boring plain ish tweed which fits well but is a bit boring by today's standards, would like to up the ante a bit this year!

Personaly no, pink (even in overchecks) is for children approx 14 and under. You can jazz things up with a bright blue or brght red overcheck for adults.

This is me on a hunter pony with a mustard tweed with bright red over check.

I now have a green tweed with more subtle over check but have kept my bright tweed as I love it soo much!
Mrs candy do some nice tweeds

I think the Jemima or the Christabelle would probably look good on a haffy

No no no.
I've seen a few people on FB asking about this jacket as it looks a bargain.
It's an acrylic mix so tend to look cheap as well as the pink.
I get mine second hand from ebay.
My last jacket cost £50 had been worn once and costs £225 from showing selection.

Thankyou all for helping me to avoid making a dire mistake..... I will keep an eye on ebay although being honest can't see too much on there at the moment - will check FB pages also x

My trick on ebay is to try a number of searches inc
Tweed jacket
Hacking jacket
Show jacket
And brand names.
Beau cheval
Mrs candy
Alexander james etc....
Also don't put a size in the search as people don't always put the size in the title.
I spend too long searching on ebay for jackets lol

You are pretty much the same as me - Ido exactly the same and am very non specific when searching for things on ebay!! Just hope I can find a bargain

Try searching for typos and incorrect spelling.

For example I got one Alexander James jacket for £30, it had been worn once and cost over £300 new. However on ebay it was listed as Alexanda James.
And I saw a Bernard Weatherill jacket (£2000 new) go for £75 asit was listed as a vernard eatherill jacket.

There was a Weatherill jacket recently on as Weatherall. £2000 worth of jacket unsold at £100!!!!
Unfortunately if I never ate again I wouldn't have fit in it.

I was so tempted with the one I saw as I may have been able to get in it with a bit of a diet (at my slimmest I can do a size 8, currently about 2 stone to heavy for a size 8) but I didnt have any money at the time

I agree that you are better getting a really good second hand jacket. Look on Horse Gossip - there are usually quite few for sale on there. Look for names such as Showing Selection, Foxley, Pretty Ponies, Mrs Candy and Le Beau Cheval.

It looks a bit tacky due to the material, but saying that I have a lovely mears mobberly tweed in green with pink and lemon over check and have shown at county level (m&ms and coloureds) in it and always had comments as to how nice it looked! I think a lot depends on the fit and quality of the jacket as much as the colour. http://images.rbequestrian.co.uk/images/pinkgold1.jpg?maxheight=1200 this is it if link works!

You know when you are printing something and your printer starts running out of ink, you start to get random oddly coloured lines on your paper... That's what the jacket reminds me of. Sorry, it's a no from me too xx
