Hiya, done loads of unaffiliated stuff with my little girl and her section a last year, so gonna try some bigger stuff this year. Were going to aim for the British Heritage M&M lead rein classes a hes a good example of his breed. His passport is registered with the welsh pony and cob society (the green one). My question is, does he need to be registered with the pony society and does he need a height certificate as its a M&M breed and they dont for affiliated classes?

Thankyou:)

As far as I am aware to enter you do not need to be members of the society to enter, but to qualify further you do. Don't quote me on it though - I'm a Cob person!

Thats what i thought, been slightly involved in highland showing and thats the rules! Not so fussed about the qualifing stuff although if it went well this year may so it all for the next year!!!:D;)

No, he does not need a height certificate - so long as he's WPCS registered (which you say he is) then it's fine. You might need one if you want to qualify for the Royal International and possibly HOYS, but if you're aiming a little lower than this then you're fine :)

Are you talking about BSPS classes? He doesn't need to be registered with the BSPS to take part in these - and neither do you. If you want to qualify for and compete at the BSPS Winter or Summer Championships at Arena UK then I think pony, rider and owner need to be BSPS registered. If you qualify and have never been a member before, you have 7 days to send away your registration to become a member in order to qualify. However, if you don't intend on going to the Champs then you don't need to be a member to take part in the classes, anyone can do them, you just won't qualify.

Hope that helps - if you're talking about something totally different then do ignore me :o

Thankyou, yes i think thats the classes, last year they were called the BSPS British Heritage Mountain and Moorland lead rein class!
Thankyou from what i can gather from people thats what ive been told too. Thats great to hear, i dont mind getting it all for the following year if we do particualy well but thought we'd give it a go this year if the cost werrent really massively high. As weve got newbury and royal windsor very close so would be nice.
Thanks for your help!:)
