Showing peeps

You can either plait or leave natural, depending on the type of horse, eg, hunter type, you should plait. Some Appies have such sparse manes that they would look ridiculous plaited up.
 
Thank you, how do you tell what type he is? Is it just how heavily built he is? Mine has the opposite problem to most appys, he has quite a thick mane and hates me faffing around with it.
 
Yes, if he is a hunter build, show him as a hunter but honestly if he dislikes you doing anything with his mane, I'd leave it. You will see plaited, pulled and 'au naturel' at Appaloosa shows. Where are you showing?
 
It's Gloucester lodge, in Northumberland, I wouldn't normally show but I think they are just trialling appaloosa classes so I just thought I would support it as you don't get many shows this area.
