Showing people....a few questions...

am i right in thinking my pony would be best suited to WHP classes (she can jump up to 3' with me, higher no doubt with someone else!) and for local level does it matter that i am 20 in a WHP class? [she is 13.1]
also am i correct in thinking she is fine for local level but wouldnt progress much further than that? (she is un-regd)
We have been hacking, hunting & generally chilling out since october but i am planning on really buckling down with her schooling soon with a view to have a bash at some shows this year (did inhand last year, 1 ridden WHP and won but only 2 in class haha)

also the pics below are last summer and the last one plus my signature are recent, is she in good show condition do you think?

any comments, advice, tips, conformation comments, gratefully taken on board

Nice pony at 13.1 and 20 you will be fine at local level, but at county level i doubt there would be a class for you, the only pony classes for adults tend to be m & m, should do well locally !

You should be fine at local level.

However its only reg M&M where theres no age limit.

Few small showing pointers:

Wear gloves for inhand
Swap your stock for a tie

Oh yes i left them behind that day! Was one of my first shows and was all in a fluster.

For inhand should i wear my tweed jacket with beigey coloured trousers is that right? and some sort out hat but doesnt have to be a hard hat? is that right?

This is me doing local level in-hand turnout and it is fine. I like to wear a trilby, but you can wear a hard hat, but preferably not a black one. Some M&M people don't wear hard hats and often wear a smart waistcoat instead of a jacket.

Unfortunately I always tend to look a bit scruffy - am not the best clothes horse - short and fat!

I like to wear brown to compliment Stinker's colouring and do intend to get the jacket altered to look a better fit - bit long in places as usual. Cream shirt looks nice with brown and I wear a red tie with gold squares. Hair in a bun in a net, brown gloves and boots. No jewellery and minimal/no makeup.

Finally have your eyes open for the photo - looks a lot better

the reason wleshi people do not wear hats is............. the fall off even when wedge on cos we have to run so damn fast, i will wear a hard had if i had a larger than 14hh colt that could reach tokick my head in

some showing tips: pull her tail, make your plaits smaller and take a bit of length off her tail. this will help her show herself to her best
She is lovely and at locals you shouldnt have a problem with your age. find her a younger rider and i dont see why she cant do some county WHP's if she jumps well. Get her a nice wide hunter noseband and browband to make her head look a bit finer and break up the white on her head. She is lovely and realy should do quite well at WHP.

Shes's very pretty and I'd imagine she'd do well at local level. However I'm not sure she'd be successful at county level, firstly because of her height (making her one of the smallest in the 14hh class, plus you'd need to find a jockey) and because she is not registered. She is in fine condition for local shows, you need a hunter bridle though and try and get her going in a nice outline with a neat jump - judges love it!
