Hi all

I'm thinking of taking the plunge sooner rather than later & starting to compete my boy (eeeek!) and as much as I'd love to event him I'm not sure I'm quite 'there' yet so was thinking of some low level WH perhaps?
I think he's a nice WH sort but what do I know?!

I'm scared!!!!!! Haven't competed since I was a kid! Our jumping needsa a little work so it won't be this weekend or anything that drastic!!!!!!

Seriously, ANYTHING can be a WH at local level, honestly and truly! He's way more like a WH than my horse, and we usually do well (lol, last year we won best WH by pure fluke!)- just go for a decent clear from a strong canter (do not piddle about, kick on and get a strong 'hunting pace' going) and then really go for a gallop at the end and keep him really going forwards. They want a horse who would hunt well, if he pootles about, he really won't.

He's 16.2hh - I've seen allsorts in at the local shows so didn't see a reason he couldn't but I suppose certain types attract the judges eye more than others!
I think he's perfect but I know he wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea!

We can do 'forwards' really well!!!!!! He's very sensible but not lazy so hopefully will be ok?! If I don't chicken out of course!!!!!!!

Hey I just started showing again this year after a 14 year absence (A Levels-Uni-Job!); I have done 4 local shows and have been having a ball- last weekend I won the Novice WH.........go for it. I'm having a ball and I have such a zest for life having got back the competition bug I just cant tell you how great it is!

You will do well at local level he is a nice middle weight only thing I would say is cut quite a bit off the bottom of his tail bang straight so its a hand below his hocks also pull the tail. This will just make the whole pictire look a lot more proffesional. Also trim heels, whiskers, top notch and clip in his ears.

He is actually ready for a tidy up! His tail is always a bit wild but usually shorter & the bog-brush mane is as a result of him rubbing in his snuggy hood over winter!
