Can you show in a leather head coller. i dont do big shows only local sorta thing... i have a welsh x nf mare she is 12 is it okay as my dad has brought be a mark todd head coller which he thought i could show in but i thought it was a briddle that you showed in??
so my question is can you show in a leather head coller at small shows??

Should be a bridle. Apart from anything else you need to have proper control of them in a show ring.

I do know poeple who have shown just in heacollars at little local/fun shows.
I prefer a bridle personally, and it is more correct to have a bridle although at the likes of a fun show you won't get penalised for using a headcollar.

I used to use a leather headcollar on my 2 yo at fun shows and always got placed, never been penalised etc. But then she was only 2 so I'm not sure on an older horse. I know I can show my shetland in a 'bitless' show bridle, but it's different to a headcollar and quite frankly I wouldn't have much control if she wanted to go!

well its all cool i went out and exchanged it for a very nice bridle and will show pics sunday x
