The classes you have mentioned sound fine. For those classes, ideally you should have:

For him -

Brown tack!
Plain flat noseband - hunter style.
Plain leather browband
Snaffle or pelham
Numnah in black or brown - to blend in. Same with girth.

For you -

Tweed jacket
Plain shirt (cream is good)
Cream/beige jods - not white
Long black boots
Coloured tie.
Brown gloves
Navy hat.

Obviously you may not have all this stuff but thats what you are aiming at!
Horse looks a nice boy. Have fun!

He looks lovely!

I would however think him to be a bit too fine for Cob Type, going by the cobs we have at our local shows... He would need to be either hairy and traditional, or hogged and trimmed, not plaited.

Hanging cheek snaffle would be acceptable, you want to be in a cavesson noseband with either a snaffle or pelham. At local level they're not so bothered about the colour of your tack or hat, but agree with Brandy on the ideal turnout. Don't use your gag or grackle noseband, you may be able to get away with a flash but it's not ideal, even at local level.

Main thing though is that you just go and have fun!

Ditto he'd have to be hogged for cob classes.

If you can get away with him being down as a 14.2hh at local level....I'd do a working hunter pony class on him :)

He looks lovely! He's not dissimilar to my horse but a slimmer model! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=12057677&l=f4d188bc2a&id=223404670

hows he bred? is he really only 14.3hh looks bigger!

I'm not a showing guru but would agree that he looks a bit light for cob classes, would actually say that with his height and bone not sure he's really chunky enough for ridden hunter classes either. but he may look different under saddle - do you have any ridden pics?

Does he jump? Think he'd do well in RC horse type class which sometimes has a jump or two. working hunter too. sports horse classes if your local show has them

You could do height showing classes and if he had coloured browband he has a pretty head so could pull it off.

Out of the classes you've said I would do hunter type and showing exc 14.2.

I think at local level you really don't need brown tack black is fine but I would get a matching shaped numnah as looks more discrete - doesnt need to be expensive.

For hunter class ideally a double but snaffle is fine - would def say not to use grackle, cavesson much better and if using snaffle then flash acceptable.

For hunter class - plain bridle but I would use coloured browband for the show class.

rider wise - ideally tweed for hunter class then navy for showing class but not essential. canary, cream or beige jods, long boots and brown gloves. buy a brown cane to complete the look - cost about 5quid.

We rarely do any showing but this is us turned out with minimum expense!:

Good luck and have fun - post some pics after!!

Ditto Brandy with regards to tack and your turnout etc

However, don't use a bit your horse is not used to just for the sake of 'fitting in with the crowd' and what's right, far better to use the a bit that your horse is used to, that you have control with, than changing at the last minute, ideally you'll need to introduce/school him so he goes correctly in a snaffle/pelham etc at home, plus at local level, you'll have more chance of producing a nice show (or jump if its WH etc) and getting placed than being carted around the ring if your horse is not listening to you. Ok so the judge will question your choice of bit, but at least he'll be going well in what he's used to.

thanks every one might do some workers classes
this is what i was thinking after comments
black bridle with caverson nose band he does go in one with my kk snaffle as we do go in it ok and balck saddle it is a jump saddle but well tuff its only local level. have been given a black fluffy full numnah that looks really smart so all orted there will plait him up mane and tail and also geting talce out for thoes legs. and for me well my hat is black ish loking more brown thease days i have a pair of begie jodhs i have a shirt will have to hunt a tie out my show jacket is navy but friend has offerd me her grey tweed one so will take both and i only own boot and gaiters.

thank you for all your lovley comments he is faboulouse might do some sj if he is behaving ][

and yes he is only 14.3 but does ride bigger he will not mesure in bsja such a shame as is super boy so honest but think i may try enter him for 14.2 and under as have seen bigger 14.2 than him .

will put lots off pics off him on jusst hope it doesnt rain :)
