Sorry all, I know this has been done to death recently - just wanted your thoughts on what classes I shouls aim for with my little cob.

.... and before you say Mountain and Moorland - he isnt registered and his breeding isnt recorded in his passport and all the shows with M&M classes (even the small local ones) are registered full and part breeds only :(

If hes well bahaved you could do family pony/horse. Cob class. Or if he jumps working hunter pony. Or best rider, spruce him up and do turn out class.

Being brutally honest, the only type specific class he could go into is unregistered m&ms. Our little fell is unregistered and rather like him actually, and she does these.

The other option might be traditional cob, but at the moment at local level these tend to be restricted to the coloureds only. Solid traditional cobs are only just beginning to edge their way in.

However classes like riding club/pony club pony, ridden pony (not riding pony), family pony, best turned out etc. that are not type specific would also be suitable.

Have found a show with a WHP M&M class, which sounds perfect, so at least we have a show to go to now :)

If I entered him in cob classes can I keep him 'au naturel' wouldnt want to hog him

Look for riding club horse classes. You can enter any "type" I.e. cob, hack, hunter, but you have to pop a fence. They even have a search for a star class so you could end up at hoys.
