I think she would be more of a ridden hunter, from what I've seen over the past couple of years the riding horses are a lot lighter boned (not that yours is particularly heavy!).

i also agree ridden hunter. I think riding horses are much lighter boned, the have spindly legs like show ponies. I would say light/middleweight hunter dependant on the classes specs.

Lovely looking horse! I would say riding horse. I'd expect a hunter to be bigger. If she was finer then I'd say possibley a hack. If you're doing local shows have an experiment and see how you go. :)

Ridden hunter - horse is a lovely type for a light/middleweight class. I would be more inclined to say middleweight, but see the type of horses that have already entered too. :)

I'd say hunter too. (could even get away with small hunter if she is 15.2hh). Although at local level I've seen horses do both classes, so don't worry too much.
I think she is beautiful, don't often see pure black horses without any white!?

I dont think she fits perfectly into either catagory but i would say riding horse. She is going to look tiny in a hunter class as most are well over 16.2. My Horse is about her build and she does county level riding horse as would just looked swamped as a hunter. Again mine is very much inbetween. If there is a riding club horse class i'd say she would do great in that. But as it's local have a go at both and see what feedback the judges give you.

Maybe measure her bone to see what she would be?
The ridden pics make me think riding horse, but the others make me think hunter!
Not much help! Why not enter both and see how you do!
Lovely neddie though, very stunning in those last 2 shots! :)

Definitely hunter. Riding horse are a more 'quality' animal, tending to be pretty much full TB more often than not. At 15.2 she is bang on height for a small hunter if the show has one.

How much bone has she got? What level showing are you doing? I agree with the riding horse vote. Unless it's a really big show, round here, the hunter classes are usually split like this - Small Hunter up to 15.2 & Large hunter exceeding 15.2. RC shows often have a generic Show Horse class that everyone enters or a Hunter class & a Riding Horse/Hack class. You might find the judge in the hunter class tells you it's more of a riding horse & the riding horse judge tells you it's more of a hunter! Might be worth going to have a look at these classes at next show before you decide.

My lad was slightly bigger 16.1h and bigger built he was only just big enough to do hunter classes and was often the smallest there

it really does depend on what else is in the class

personally I would do riding horse classes with her

In shows where there are separate classes for lw etc she would be fine in a lw otherwise riding horse everytime
