Just wondering if this saddle (obviously minus the saddle pad) would be ok for showing - not sure what kind yet!

I was wondering if my dressage saddle would show his shoulder better but its black. Obviously with a flat brown hunter type bridle and no martingale.

what level are you planning on showing at?

If your bridle is a dark brown then you might be best to use the dressage saddle. Its hard to tell from the photo, if you could post a picture that is side on then it would be easier because it depends on how much shoulder it shows.

I would definitely use the jumping saddle rather than dressage, esp if it makes all your tack brown. Ideally you want to show as much shoulder as you can.

Low level - and anything which doesn't involve too much feeling of his legs (they are perfectly sound but you wouldn't think it if you ran your hands down them).

Maybe lightweight hunter or large riding horse?

I'd use the dressage saddle because at low level the judge is unlikely to ride and it will show off the shoulder better.

However it is worth phoning the organiser if the judge is riding then i'd use the other saddle

I'd be inclined to go with the dressage saddle. Ok so it's black but you'll get away with that at lower levels and if it shows the shoulder better.

I don't show hunters or riding horses but I would think you'd do better in hunter classes with that one.

If you only have the two saddles I would go for the dressage... Although a lot of judges do not like them, it would be far more suitable than a jumping saddle.
