Hi All,

Well I have my first show with the big hairy on Sunday and need to get him and tack clean tomorrow, however I could do with some advice.

We are going to a local unaffiliated show and doing some fun classes (handsomest gelding etc) but also would like to try family pony, riding horse and coloured ridden class.

My question is which bridle should I use:

1) Elevator comfort bridle in black with padded poll, wide brow band and wide padded 'crank' noseband. This is the smartest and looks better (buckles line up with eye etc) but not sure if allowed crank nose band and padding?

2) narrow style flash bridle (would take flash off for showing but obviously this will leave the little loop thing showing), pretty sure noseband is very dark brown and rest is black! Although this fits fine the buckles are all over the place, however it would give me the option to use the flash to help keep his nosenet down (when not showing) in case it's windy.

Bit wise it's either kimblewick or full cheek french link snaffle, obviously kimblewick not allowed but is the snaffle ok? (really hope so as have left it far too late to be trying him in a new bit!).

He is a 15.3 coloured m/w if that makes any difference.

Any advice gratefully recieved, am numpty at showing! :D

The first bridle sounds the best out of the 2 you have, although it's not really ideal for showing as it would be too bulky for him. If you could use the other bridle and get another flat hunter type noseband that would be better. Snaffle will be fine. Have fun :)

def 1st bridle it won't matter about colour and padding for a local show, just that you both look smart! snaffle is perfect. enjoy!
