Showing the older horse...help please!

I know its a bit early, but thinking of next spring!

Can anyone suggest some classes Lance could do..Im thinking ones my OH (who is pretty novice) can do, as he is really keen to get out there but Im not sure what classes he can do with him!

Lance is 19 in feb, and is a 16.2hh Latvian warmblood.

OH wants to have some fun with him!

'Type' wise he is a good middleweight, pic below:

Veteran obviously... could also do Riding Horse, Novice Rider, Open Rider etc (anything that's not a specific breed class)

obvious choice is veterans, in my area they have ridden warmblood clasess ( Bucks area)
Maybe even lightwieght hunter type?

Forgot to say...OH is pretty novice, so needs to be something undemanding too!

Horse has evented a lot inc 3 day and competed elementary dressage,but that wont affect local showing classes will it?

Oh just wants to have abit of fun really, perhaps get a few rosettes!

no he can go and do anything he likes inhand - only becomes a prob if the horse has been to HOYS or RIHS when going to local championships where they are targeted for the competitve amateus

Also walk and trot dressage tests, you can do those at any time of year.

In hand classes, novice rider, best riding horse (most local shows this is normally more about maners, rather than horse type).

You could always see if your local tack/feed shops have shedules for local shows, which will give you an idea of classes.
