So we toddled off in the Rain to East Kilbride Open Show today. Despite the decidedly soggy weather the wee guy did me proud.
Stood on the trailer like a star and when allowed out to stand he just munched his haynet and watched the very busy world go by
We had entered Inhand M&M Large breed and Inhand Youngstock
The M&M class was a class of six and he was the youngest by a good few years. Judge loved him, plenty of compliments from her and fellow competitors. Pulled second and stayed there after individual
Hung around for that section championship but lots of strong mature ponies and he’s very immature and keeps taking stretches so isn’t as well covered as is liked. Very happy with his manners and behaviour
Waited for Inhand Youngstock. Good class of three. Pulled first and stayed there. Totally over the moon, he gave a lovely trot out and stood up great for the judge. This is the bit we struggle with as he can’t stay at piece when removed from the line up. We are working on it.
Again waited for the championship and an even stronger class with some quality ponies and young riders. So again got nothing but so so so chuffed as despite the long day, on and off the trailer and the torrential rain he behaved impeccably and lots of people were approaching me to compliment him
We also won a trophy as well so the judge must have really liked him
A very soggy but wonderful day
