Veteran classes prob best bet in hand and ridden. Or maybe a hunter class depending on bone depends on what he could go in.
Lovely boy looks like my old boy
Thank you He's injured his hock in January, he's sound and there is no swelling but he isn't staying sound when ridden so we would be limited to inhand! We just need something to do
Veteran, hunter and possibly cob class for local showing shows depending on how much bone he has. You could do coloured but personally I dont think he has enough 'colour' to be successful in a class like that.
If his conformation is good, and he moves well then he will be fine in coloureds.
Colour really doesn't come into it, LOL except in 'colour and markings' . The horse should be able to stand on his/her own merit as a solid colour horse. The white bits are a bonus (or not depending on what is white.... tails, hocks, knees, feather....... :S )
You can even get 'grey' horses doing coloureds. In their youth, they had dappled grey patches which have faded out with age. The skin underneath is black and the colour only shows when they are wet.
They are called 'Historical Coloureds'
Hope you don't mind me saying, but a wider noseband would really suit him
