Ridden Hunter, Ridden coloured over 15hh. Ridden cob, Not sure of any others, at riding club level they wont always ride. And for coloureds it tends to be when the class is split into different heights and types.
My coloured never got ridden but I only did riding club level shows. But my friend does all the bsps shows and hers gets ridden everytime.
County Level Showing more so than local level although it's not unheard of for the judge to ride at local level. I don't think judges ride in a 153cm or under class or if the rider is under a certain age i.e ISRT classes where the rider is 22yrs or under.
And for an even stupider question....if the judge rides your horse, will someone give you a leg-up to help you get back on again? I'd love to show the Moose, but I would be absolutely stuffed if I had to get off her in the show-ring, as I'd never be able to get back on again !
I wouldnt worry, half the time the judge doesnt ride anyway, I have been in hunter classes about ten times and they only rode twice, could be worth having a few people of your yard hop on, like you school him and then let them do the show, he will get used to it then and you will be a bit better prepared
Dont worry chances are they wont ride anyway, a lot of shows I have been to and they dont, they arent on them long enough for them to play up really anyway. Most of the judges are nice quiet riders anyway so dont worry.
Because they class a rider under 21 as a child & under 153cm a childs pony so won't ride but over 21 an adult so will ride. These rules are generally with the big society's like the BSPS.
Sol isn't everyones ride and I'm a bit worried for next week !!
Can I just decline and leave the class if they want to get on ?

You can leave but I'd stay and let them get on purely for amusement value! My horse is definitely not anyone's ride but I'd wet myself if/when he bronced/played up witht he judge on
My horse normally behaves better for other people, do you think I could lead her into the ring, hand her to the judge and tell him/her to ride and judge the others at the same time?
