Would def try workers with him - not too many coloureds doing that at the moment! He could do hunters, although he may look a little small depending on if he is a big 16.1 or a small 16.1 (if you know what I mean). You'd have to chop some of that tail off though ... ! I love coloureds with solid faces and solid bottoms - so he looks perfect to me!

Was that taken at Moorgreen??? Maybe Donkey would have gone up that extra gear if she had known her boyfriend was there!!!!!!!!

I think you should give WH a go, he's a very smart looking boy (not that I'm totally biased towards coloured horses or anything hehe) and you know he has a lovely jump

Lol! I know what you mean! His tail is a bit shorter now...

He is quite "upright" so can look quite tall, but overall isnt a big horse, if that makes sense!? Does height matter less in workers then? Has he got too much substance for riding horse?

ridden pic... sorry it is small!!!

Height is not so important for workers. He looks more huntery than riding horse in that picture, but the line between the two classes is very fine, so you would probably do just as well in large riding horse (where there is also a working riding horse at the nat champs). You can do CHAPS, BSPA (one for HOYs qualifiers and one for RIHS qualifiers), British Show Horse (BSHA) for riding horse classes and the Hunter Society for workers and normal hunter classes. There are, of course, all the P(UK) classes as well so you could also join that society ...
How much money do you have!

Lol!! Well he is already CHAPS registered, but it is purely going to be an occasional "hobby" thing as he is affiliated to event......

But that is all very useful to know.....

Thank you!!

You might find that joining P(UK) would be fun if he mainly events. This would give you access to both riding horse, hunter and worker classes (and coloureds I think). Their championship show inthe summer is over 5 days and (if the weather is OK) can be good fun.

Cool! Thanks FMM, sounds a good plan, I know they had a big show just down the road from us (at Newark and Notts showground) last year, was that the main champs?!

If it was in August, then that would be the big one. You need to qualify for some of the classes - haven't a clue which ones as I am not a member any more. Here is the schedule.
http://www.poniesuk.org/showdays.htm#SUMMER%20CHAMPIONSHIPS

You have about 100 different classes - a variety of coloureds (including working), riding horse and hunters (including working), sports horse, event horse. With a coloured ridden type, the classes are endless! There appears to be about 4 coloured ridden classes you would be eligible for!

As he is such a big lad (in terms of height), he could afford to carry some more weight for the working hunters as they can be big. But he does look fine as he is!

Thanks hon, he was only 4 in that pic, and he is destined to event, so weight unfortunately has to be kept in control, much to his disgust
