I have a friend who owns a 13.2hh new forest pony, can anyone advise as to which showing class would be suitable for this pony, the rider is an adult, I was thinking that small m&m would be suitable, but a friend suggested that as a new forest the mare would be classed as a large m&m, although she is quite a small build and I don't think that she would stand a chance against the larger built ponies, any suggestions?

No I would think she would class as a small MandM due ot height and build!

Could possibly do show hunter pony or something like that?

In a mixed M & M a new forest is a Large breed.

Small breeds: Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A&B.

Large Breeds: Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C&D.

NF is a large breed. They often put connies and NF in together, or mix all the large breeds in one huge class.

Depending on the build of the pony, she could also do hunter pony and working hunter classes as well as M&M workers.

Thanks for advice, I'll suggest that she enter the large m&m class and maybe the hunter pony too, many thanks
