I normally don't do showing only Dressage and jumping, but this year I am going to make a determined effort!

I have a little connemara x arab, he looks very connemara like. (If I could work out how to pics on forum I would. help please???)

What classes can I enter? mountain and moorland?? Does he have to be plaited or left natural?? Also do I wear normal beige jods, brown hacking jacket and tie???

Can I use my velet browband, button hole that is blue and yellow????

Thanks very much.

Don't think you can enter M&M with a part bred, although if it's a small show, it won't matter greatly

Turnout - a la natural for pony and hacking jacket, tie, beige or canary jods, long boots if over 16.

And also for M&M (if you do do it) - tack has to very plain & workmanlike too

At unaff level you can prob do M+M stuff.. see on the shedule if part breds are allowed. Then you'll need all plain tack, him unplaited for M+M. No fancy browband or button hole though. You're stuff sounds good.

Or you could have a good at plaited Hunter Pony of Working Hunter classes, my old connie did well in them. Then he'll need to be plaited up, but again no fancy tack or bright colours at all.

You can't enter a pure M&M class, although there are some part bred M&M classes at the smaller shows. You certainly should not wear a coloured browband or a button hole though - plain tack, tweed jacket is correct. Your pony sounds like he could perhaps be a hunter pony, in which case he should be plaited for this class, with the same tack and turnout as for the M&Ms. A pic would be great!

Tack I have is hunter style bridle and a straight cut GP. They are black though, will this matter at unaff events??

Just curious, what classes is the coloured browbands for???

Thanks for your replies.

Because he is a part bred he should be pulled and plaited for showing. Lots of larger shows have PB arab classes which you could do sounds like he'd make a nice small hunter or working hunter
