Took Lady out this morning.
Mainly because we have been getting her in/out of the box really well recently and we thought it was about time to travel her again, so we took her to Gracelands which is about 5 minutes away.
Also we wanted to be able to school her properly on a sand school instead of a slippy muddy rutted field
And we just wanted to see what she would be like at a show.
Anyway, so she loaded really well, travelled really quitely, and practically lept out of the box when we got there
She had her eyes on stalks, was a bit joggy, so mum lunged her in the outdoor school for a while (was very quite as we got there early so noone was around). She settled down well so I got on her and walked her round- she had a bit of a spring in her step but she was very well behaved!
More people started to arrive, she was a bit unsettled to start with, but got used to it. Gave her a good trot around and she was really calm
Took her in the indoor warm up to see what shes like indoors- was a bit wobbily going in but was fine once we got going
She trotted around really nicely, although she whinnied a few times. Popped her over some cross poles nicely too
We decided to take her in the clear round (only 1"9ft). She had to be led into the ring as she was a bit dubious of the small doorway, but once she got in there she felt sooo relaxed- she wasnt fazed at all by all the jumps in the ring! Walked her round for a bit to get her used to it, trotted into the first- she popped it and came straight back to trot! She was amazing, she just popped round the course like she had done it all her life!
She was a bit wobbily in the doubles but she jumped clear!
so we got our first rosette!
She was SO well behaved that we decided to take her in the 2ft class. We think she must have been to some shows before as she was perfect! So entered and in we went, and omg they had put a wall in! Was sure that she would stop at it but thought we might aswell give it a go!
I needn't have worried- she flew round, didn't even think about stopping at anything, and just had the last fence down
She would have won it too as not many clears and she went quite fast (even though we trotted in the jump off section alot
).
Really proud of her, she was so great, and walked into the trailer fine to come home too!
Please don't say we are rushing her, she is 5 coming up to 6 and we wheren't even going to jump her today but she felt so ready for it that there was no point in holding her back, she really enjoys it and takes you on into the fence!
