I'm more of a lurker than a poster but mainly see eventing reports/plans for
2012 and seeing as i'm a bs showjumper just wondered who else was and what shows they are doing next year etc.

Obviously it's great to hear unaffiliated sj'ers but I'm particulary interested in BSJA outings!

Often enjoy seeing Measles posts but who else?!

So come and introduce you and your neddies and of course - Pictures would be great!

Hi, and welcome to the forum!!

I'm a showjumper :) Have a young mare Ripley (aged 4) that I got from Measles in March. She has just started jumping BN. Had a bit of break at the end of the summer due to surgery on a suspected infected tendon sheath but now back out competing :)

Any pics of your horse(s)?

Here are a few pics:

Im a pretend one, does that count? :D
I have a 6 year old Holsteiner who jumps really well i just have no idea how to ride him properly . No competing since Oct as ive been made redundant, once i have a job sorted i will be out and about. No plan for next year but im hoping we will just work our way up at our own funky pace :p
A couple of pics as even thou we are slightly useless and he is a bit special, he looks very good in pics :D

I do but I lurk 99% of the time!

I have Billy 5yo 16.3hh WB and Banter 11yo 15.2hh TB, both jumping between 90cm - 1.05m at the moment, hoping to step it up next year :)

Probably going to do some wales & west shows and Hickstead this year, and will try for scope quals etc :) What are you thinking of doing?

Right not been on here for ages and tech banned from eventing due to injured shoulder so back jumping so guess I can reveal myself lol

Saf does everything or at least we try
Hambleden

Windsor

All rest from Merrist Wood

Woops sorry carried away, still 3 more days off work and time to fill, well thats me revealed :)

ME :) Or at least I try to be!!

I have 1 horse Jack 16.2 Belgium warmblood who i've been riding for 3 years, we have jumped from BN to 1.25 and are aiming to step up to 1.30's this year. We have qualified Blue Chip 2012 and hope to qualify for Scope as well, I would also like to give HOYS amateur quals a crack this year :)

This is Jack.....

I'm one !

Have BSJA'ed since 1982.

Had a looooong break of 18 years but then had a lot of fun with a good horse who sadly broke and died in Jan 2011....now have a new super talented boy who i'm aiming to jump Newcomers on later in 2012.

Some of my old boy:

I don't know if i qualify for this post as a pure BS person :p but i have competed BS to 1m10 but now will be doing lower level unaffiliated for a while (money, time and horse confidence issues) but i'm introducing myself (and the neddies) anyway! :D

I'm Mandy, 19 and at uni studying Biology :)

I rode ponies as a youngster but they were slow lazy things so i just hacked about :p I really learnt to showjump when i was 14 on this ginger beast Monty (classic Magna, by Graf Magna. hannoverian x danish warmblood) who was 17 when we got him, big strapping 16.3hh schoolmaster who had competed upto 1m25 and done PN eventing and hunted for yeaaaars. really looked after me and did everything i asked :) We competed upto 1m10 BS and used to jump 1m40 at home easy, bless him :) good memories with this one.

Monty got retired from BS at the age of 21, and now happily hunts and does cross country with me;

SO we bought Bugsy 2 years ago, who i have had a lot of trouble with, confidence issues (both me and him) but did compete him upto 1m05 BS, however, I am now taking him back to 75cm unaffiliated to really re vamp our whole way of going and my way of riding, so currently i don't do BS on him, but here are some photos of him at his best :)

we like to pretend so we can play :D

sorry, I don't have any from shows but I'm hoping to start again at 1.05m as we've had a few months away from competing.

this is my 21yo KWPN, Jerry, who I've had since june last year although I've known him since 2005 as he was my Dad's.

In august this year

You all look great, keep them coming!!

I have 2 - aged 6 and 8 as of tomorrow!

The 6 year old will make a step up to Newcomers as she has all her BN and Disco dc. Only had her a little while so taking it steady.

And the 8 year old needs two more Newcomers dcs for 2012, and then will aim to get Newcomers and Fox dcs for 2013!

Planning to do Blue Chip 2012 as 8yo has qualified for disco, and bn and disco 2nd rounds with the 6yo and disco and hopefully newcomers with the 8yo!!

Me! I have n 8 year old currently jumping up to 1.20M classes who I produced from scratch, and a 4 year old, currently jumping up to Disco :)

Don't want to jinx it but hopefully me next year. I have a 4yo Belgian WB who injured her shoulder this summer, but is now fit and ready to go so fingers crossed we might get to some shows this year! Plan is BN and Disc and see how we go from there

Good Luck Everyone

me :)
I have a coming 8yo, full bred section D (but looks nothing like one!)
I got him just over a year ago, but had known him since he was 4yo. He had been doing dressage before, so this year was really his first proper year of jumping.
He has got all his bn dc, so will jump the regionals next year, as well as fully making the step up to newcomers (sooner rather than later) and then hopefully fox towards the end of the year. I'm hoping to qualify for blue chips and scope 2012, but we will see!
here he is;

Well I am trying and have one horse currently reg BS but don't think I can be classed as a Showjumper at the moment! :P I do love sj tho I love everything about it :D I hope that this time next year I will have improved! X

Well.. i wouldn't class myself as a sjer! I've just started BS ( I did my first BS comp in november and got my first DC last wednesday!!) on my 17.2hh 9 y/o. He's done BS and won money so he's showing me the ropes! He's my first horse and I never competed before I got him so it's all abit hit and miss!:rolleyes:We're currently doing novice and disco, but eventually seeing how things go I'd like to move up to newcomers!

I'm always a bit slow on the uptake but me!

I'm really lax about reports maybe i can try harder this year.

my 4 are currently on holiday, basking in the field like muddy hippos they are coming back in mid feb.

My grade A had a rubbish year last year and never really got going through lameness troubles.... she went from winning 5k the year before to £300 last year!! I'm hoping a good few months off and her (unbelievably expensive :( ) routine vet treatment might fix it, otherwise she can go in foal. If she is sound I'd like to get her back to doing 1.30s for the diesel money, shes very consistant. Ideally I'd love to try some more 1.40s (I've only done a handful) but right now Iid be glad for her just to be happy jumping sound again.

I have a 4 year old which ditches me every five minutes (im not joking!) Shes very behind and has only jumped one british novice so far, I hate riding it so far, its lovely and talented blah blah blah but its so sharp - all mine are sharp but this is something else!

Then two 8 year olds, one is the actual perfect horse, the other one is a nutter. The nutter is super nervy and can bolt when upset....so thats challenging in a warm up or half way round a course...!, but she is super scopey so its kind of worth it (handy when you miss!). She jumped alot of fox's last year and did well, she didnt go to a show til she was 5 (it took all of her 3 and 4 year old years to break her and 3 different yards! :) ) Hoping to do some b&c's and 130s with her this year.

the 'perfect' one is a late starter too, shes had a foal. She very hot headed but awesome to ride, although hard work but shes definatley my favourite. She will do the disco second rounds this year, get her newcomers dc s again for next year (shes got them for this year but will be too green). She jumped 1 fox and was 4th last year so ready for some more this year. I think I'll keep her at fox and work on her manners.

i dont have any pics on this computer though!

Another showjumper here although I haven't competed for a couple of years due to lack of horse.
Thats changed and now have 2, possibly 3 which should be out playing BS this coming year.
However, there is a possible move back to the dark side (eventing) as that is what the owner of one of the horses really wants him to do. :D

That's good to hear :)

I'm an eventer turned temporary sjer due to cost and having a horse who's much better at the sj game than she ever was at the eventing game!
We don't have any huge ambitions, I just enjoy going out and jumping on a horse who loves her job and is pretty competitive at 1.10 level- she's only come home from 1 show unplaced in the past year

Unfortunately no-one ever takes pics at the BS shows round here so here's one from her eventing days-

well I used to be a SJ and guess sort of still am but am just an owner now !!

Myself i competed to 1.30 level when i was younger then a few years ago i got Gadget who after 5 years got me to jumping at some of the top shows in UK (British Open/HOYS etc) and competing in 1.40's he is now with a YR and hopefully will compete on British Teams this year

Then i have Phoenix who i bred myself - she is by Balou du Rouet and i really do have high hopes for her - last year she competed in all the 4yo classes and has been in the field since October she has a month left to play before coming in to get fit for the start of her 5yo year - would love her to get chosen to go to Lanaken this year

then there is Apollo who is 6 months old and by Super Trooper de Ness - he is just a little munchkin !!

I do normally do lots of reports but due to having the winter off (which i must say was lovely) you wouldnt have heard anything for a while

anyway all photo are on here

Hmm, kind of! SJ more than anything now, as the expense of BE makes it very difficult for me! Jumping upto 1.10m at the moment, and am just having fun with it! Will hopefully do the amateurs etc in the future, my mare loves it and has a small amount of winnings.

I will be brave and add myself to this list having spent all morning pencilling shows into my diary! I jumped up to Fox with my last horse until I sadly lost him in April 2010. Now have a slightly lunatic 16.2hh WB who when I bought him in June 2010 was ready to do his BN 2nd rounds having got 6 DCs with his previous owner that spring.

However we lost pretty much all of 2011 to an abcess in his upper foreleg so we only started pootling round some unaff tracks in November. Aiming to reaffiliate asap albeit I dont expect to be successful and he is a bit of a spooky/sharp tank and I am not as good a rider as his previous owner! (yes am having a bit of a sulk at the moment about my lack of ablity! January blues!)

Great to see all the pics though I feel a bit humbled in the company of Shark1, Tinks, etc!!

Dont be silly!! At least you compete i dont anymore and am about to renew my membership as just an owner instead of a rider though one day i am going to breed one for myself to compete and just have fun on!!

I have a quirky grade b that is probably in her last year competing then will be used to breed. A perfect 7 year old that is going to hopefully do newc and fox this year and a nightmare 6 year old that is very talented but very sharp and hot so we are hoping she will do bn and disc calmly this year ( hope being the operative word)

I pretend to jump but really just fail with the best chestnut mare in the world. You know, "If Carlsberg made Chestnut Mares " type...

Weve jumped up to 1.05, this mare p!sses over everything when her brain is in the game and when its not in the game she tells me in no uncertain words.

The glorious byproduct of a very Teutonic production line.
