Questions for you jumpers - how often do you school? Do you always school "with jumping" or do you sometimes school just on the flat and don't jump during that riding session?
Just wondering!

I'm no showjumper myself but used to work for an international sj'er.
The horses were almost always just schooled on the flat and just jumped at a show. Some were hacked out every now and again (maybe one a fortnight?) others weren't hacked at all. We maybe jumped the odd horse at home that hadn't had a recent outing perhaps once a fortnight.

I'm more into eventing that pure SJ - but I will rarely jump more than once a week at home. Usually 2 schooling sessions, 1 with poles/fences, 1 lunge and then 2 hacking - would depend if I were competing at the weekend though.

I school around twice a week, and hack about twice aweek, and go for a lesson once a week, then compete at show at weekend. If i dont have a lesson i will maybe do poles, or small jumps just to keep my eye in.

I jump mine at most once a week at home in the school. In the summer they never get schooled either just hacked out, but in the winter they are schooled 3 or 4 times a week and usually just flatwork

I give mine a variety of work at home, some schooling, hacking, road work etc. My novice who is just starting to jump does 2 sessions a week at present with poles, but they are short and sweet. My other 2 are graded horses and one is never jumped at home and the other has a little school over a few fences the day before a show.
