Looking for Showjumping Farms in Holland or anywhere. Looking to get a quality well bred horse with sj lines??

Looked at a few today over here but the prices just seem through the roof.

Thanks will give them all an email. I;ve never bought from abroad but just feel i would be cutting out the middle person and paying over the top for a top class 3 year old.

Does anyone have any experience and what sort of prices for a talented 3 year old or 4 year old with good breeding???

The saying "How long is a piece of string" springs to mind with your questions regaring prices. TBH unless you already have contacts in Holland/Belgium I would seriously advise using an agent and one that comes recommended. Yes, an agent will be paid a commission but a good agent is worth the money and will help you find the right horse.

If you can get to Addington next month for the sj sale you may get a feel for prices, the horses entered mainly come from continental dealers so you could get a pretty good idea of breeding too. Good luck in your search

I agree with Stacey, you will not find much difference in pices over here for a good 3 year old.

For example Paul Schockemohle breeds 1000s every year and he may only keep 10 of them, the rest all go to other dealers abroad or to sales, Carron Niccol has some very nice young ones

I know its not in Holland, but you should look further a field. I have just brought a fab SJ youngster from Tenerife stables in the Czech Repbulic, for a very good price his been here just over 1 week and i have already been offered double for him.Or why not try an importer like Steve lamb or Carron Nicoll as said above.

www.radstake.nl/horses/ are very nice people who stand good stallions and, when I visited a couple of years ago, did not take commission on foals shown to buyers if they were bred by their own clients (Not sure about the older horses). some of the other studs add 10% or 20% or more to the real sale price if showing you clients horses.
De Radstake had a good selection of well bred foals to 4 yr olds.

If you go to the very well known studs and breeders, you know you will pay loads for a horse that might not be worth it. They always sell the bad quality horses, and keep the good ones.

Lauw van Vliet is a good stud to buy from. I bought a horse from them a few years ago and she was perfect. They are very kind and helpful, really listen to what you want and what you are looking for in a horse.

Benny de Ruiter is also VERY good! Very good quality Showjumpers, great accomodation and they take their time when it comes to helping customers.
