Don't worry, I'm not defecting from BE to BS and even I were to, I doubt any of you would be quaking in your boots at the added competition I'd bring. ;) :o

I've been looking at jackets ever since I saw this one at Keysoe:

Does anyone know of anything similar please, or have an opinion on other brands I might like to look at?

I also found these:

http://www.proformequine.co.uk/p-GPA_Ladies_Grand_Prix_Jacket-7059.aspx#tabs

Has anyone got one and could tell me about the fit/sizing?

Homemade Rocky Road in exchange for any help you may be able to give. :D

I bought one of the new shorter style jackets at Hickstead in the summer, but didnt want to pay as much as the Animo, Equiport etc, so I got a Pikeur Skarlett - great fit for me, well made, machine washable etcetc and a bargain by comparison at £120....

Thanks zt, is it very short as I've not got the figure to carry that off? :o Have you got any photos of you wearing it?

Personally I like Equiport & love my jacket, I had to have a made to measure as their standard sizes fitted me very strangely, if it fitted over the chest, the arms & length of jacket was miles too long, clearly I am a weird shape! I have defected from eventing to BS, my eventing friends are horrified, but I promise you will survive & people will still talk to you, although they will gasp with horror at your clinging white breeches & UNPLAITED mane!

Ive got a Equiline jacket, although i must confess its the limited edition blue one with bling, etc! But i spoilt myself and blew aload of money on it! Its lovely, get loads of complements when wearing it. Its also waterproof, so i just wipe it down when one of mine snots all over me!! But also so easy to ride in, you dont feel you have it on.

I really like Equiline where can you get them in the UK?

Have a look at sarm hippique- modern jacket but good price and not a bum freezer! I don't have the figure for that either lol
Lovely material, can choose colours/ piping etc if you want.

Look at the website but if you re struggling let me know, and I'll point you in the direction of a stockist to discuss or have a look if you like :)

I have to say that the Animo are the most flattering jackets ever. They look nothing special off but put it on, and they make you look amazing!

I love the idea of the Equiport jackets, but finding one to fit was not fun! lol! The Pikeur is very short... but lovely. Love the look of the equiline jackets.. :D

Equiport is the best in my eyes, they ate made to measure as well so should fit like a glove, they are expensive but the quality to superb.

As a dreaded sjer i would say Animo, i have one and love it. I had real issues getting a off the peg jacket to fit as i have broad shoulders so for the same money as a custom Equiport i got an Animo. In the end it was the fact it was machine washable and stretchy that did if for me, it was so nice to have a jacket that let me have freedom through the shoulders.
There is a brand that is almost identical to Animo called Robby's Equestrian that cost half the price, ive seen them at Hickstead but can for the life of me remember what stall or company was stocking them.:o

does this mean you are planning to go showjumping and NOT WEAR TWEED.... ;) but this is what eventers do (or at least what i do to highlight in vivid tweediness that the reason i can't SJ is because i am an eventer!! :D :D :D

I did a search on HHO and it does seem as if Equiport are very popular so thanks for your vote for them. You must have mis-read my post as I'm not defecting to BS, just treating myself to a new navy jacket and looking for something a bit more modern. :)

Thanks, showjump, even though I'm looking at other makes I have a feeling the Equiline jacket is The One. :p What size is yours please and did you get the standard or longer version?

Thanks, Llanali, I've found this:

http://www.equiporium.co.uk/sarm-hippique-comfortsport-121/prod_1422.html

Is that the one you meant? It's so difficult to see any detail of them when it's just a small picture like this. :(

Ive got a prestatie, navy and oyster, its lovely. Its generous on the shoulders but everywhere else the fit is standard. http://www.prestatiesport.com/womensjackets.html very comfortable and i find the material is a bit better than the Animo :)

I think I found your mention of Prestatie on a previous thread thanks, Escada2004. They seem to only make one or two styles though, is that right?

Noooo, don't go to the 'dark side' B :eek::eek::D I like the look of the Sarm Hip, or the first one (was that myselleria?) I personally think unless you're size 8 or under short jackets and white breeches are :(:( - the phrase 'does my bum look big in this' comes to mind, although of course you may be that size:) even so I still much prefer the classic look. Probably due to my age:eek:

Have seen the Gersemi jacket and it is very nice - fitted without being clingy. Seen too many short arsed jackets on people wearing a size too small if you know what I mean!!

The Enya jacket looks nice too - they didn't have that when I bought mine....Don't have a pic of me in the Pikeur Skarlett Jacket- will have to take one at w/e. I really thought I wouldn't like me in a shorter jacket, but was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on. I'm a size 10-12 & bought a 12 as I personally don't think skin tight is a good look when you're over 50!! I bought the plain blue, not pinstriped. I tend to wear pleated front breeches - again don't think ultra tight white ones do much for you at my age, but jacket still looks good with these.
(I also bought one of the dreaded Whitaker BS approved, slightly blouson style jackets for local shows and it's fabulously comfortable, although prob not smart enough for bigger shows /main ring classes.)

In which case there will be no gasps of horror, but you will become a trend setter & eventers will no longer show jump in tweed! Hope you find a smart jacket & enjoy your jumping
