As much as I want to sell Rhi, nobody wants her (or even phones) so mum and I are thinking of putting her in foal in Feb/March, back her and hack her all summer and then turn her away to become mum. Personally I think she'd breed a better showjumper than eventer so any ideas welcome. Preferably something that isn't too tall but it doesn't matter too much.

If I was going for an eventer I think I'd go Welton Double Cracker. Any ideas?

why dont you just wait back her then sell her ?? x

Because I've been told by several people she still won't sell to eventers being a mare

Only joking, well my fear is that if I put her to an eventer and out pops a filly I'll never be able to sell that either, if I put her to a Showjumper, well they don't seem to mind mares. Her brother has been jumping abroad so there is a jumping gene in there.

I like Up with the lark and Weston Justice but knowing my luck I'd get a filly!

Or how about keeping options open and going for something like Last News (TB sj'er, geard very good things about him, but don't know where he is, if he's still alive etc...), or Jaguar Mail? JM is quite expensive but obviously very trendy as Headly Brit's having a couple of his babies!

Jaguar Mail or the other one (what is his name....) on that website would have been my first choice but they're £1,400 stud fee aren't they?

He's 1600 euros, so about £1000. Flipper D'Elle is fantastic I think, an absolute pocket rocket, but his semen is sold by straw, which can work out expensive if she takes her time getting pregnant.

I have been browsing stallions today and I thought both Goodtimes and Lord Z were very reasonably priced and I have/have had some lovely horses by both of these stallions.

I have sent off for some info on a couple of stallions in Germany today as well, but I don't know their stud fees yet so I am just waiting to hear

oh who who ??? xx

Grafenstolz is a cracking stallion and his mother line is to die for.
He and Jaguar Mail are moving rapidly up the list for my eventing mare, as one thing I wont compromise on for her is jumping ability. She has a super jump and I dont want to loose it

I have to admit that i have to thank Volatis for this suggestion and to be honest at the moment i havnt seen anything else that i like apart from Volatis other suggestion which is Axis who i think is too big for my mare.

Rather than focus wholeheartedly on a showjumping sire why not focus more on stallions that are reknown for their jumping ability but also stamp fanatstic movement too.

A few that I would look at would be Contendro, Quicksilber and Quattro but the choice is endless. e-mail the Studs and ask for a DVD, many will post them out very quickly, watching them on video is much better then a few pics and a pedigree and its great fun too. Better still treat yourself and go and visit a few, whether here in the UK or abroad.
