They're easy & quite cheap to make. Most expensive part are the cups & poles, but they can be reasonably priced. Have a go at it, it isn't rocket science.
Thanks. I have a fair few polyjumps but no fillers - I used to hv wooden jumps but they are rotton now so fancied buying some plastic fillers but they are soo expensive. All the packages seem to have more poles & wings than fillers and it's just fillers I am needing so just wondered if anyone knew of any good package deals?
Brief message inthe begining as I kept getting a pop up error every time I touched the keyboard!
Building Show Jumps by Andy Radford, 2005, hardback, 128 pages is a good book, try to buy on line from Amazon - if you go into the used section you may find one very cheaply.
Here is some info about it: This practical guide describes the construction of a set of show jumps and their associated fillers. Using photographs and drawings to accompany the text, the author explains the basics of safety, tools of the trade, the correct materials and the procedures required.
Alternatively you could contact your local riding club and ask if they have any old jumps, fillers, wings they are throwing out. I got a load of old 3/4 length poles from my club years ago which had been broken on the ends. They were ideal suspended from the ceiling with bailing twine for hanging rugs on to dry. They were too narrow to use as poles in competitions but they would have been brilliant for narrow fences and stiles.
