Does anyone know if Bolton show has been and gone (i assume so) and does anyone know of any others around lostock area?

Wanting somewhere to take my share but he won't load (shakes if he even looks at a trailer) so needs to be somewhere hack-able. He's super energetic and soon to be super fit, so not a problem to hack an hour or 2 there.

Also, mystery on-off slight lameness has also been solved and explained today, yay!! Was worried it was a bit of arthritis or something started, but farrier found he had bruised his frog, so hopefully once that's sorted (light road work only for now) we can get back to lots of jumping, going to the gallops and general fun stuffs :D

Any idea on how long it should take to go? It's been quite a few weeks now (maybe 4?) and he was sound as a pound today out for a walk (read as 'joggy spinny madness') around the block. But can still see a bit of bruising down the side.

Thankies and muchos wine to all, even if you don't reply :p

I don't know about a "Bolton Show" but there's a few riding clubs with points shows out Bolton way, try Leigh and District Riding Club, Westhoughton RC and Silver Birch RC - they probably all have internet sites.

Thanks, can i enter these without being a member? As it is only for a couple of times, not anything serious. He has had his time in the limelight, so this is just maybe once or twice for a bit of fun. (he will kick backside though :D ) (or dump me on mine)

*off for a google*
Thanks for the replies, i was losing hope as it neared the end of page 2!

ETS: i've never been into showing or competing before so please excuse my numpti-ness!
(would be looking at in hand or ridden Arab classes, maybe a prelim dressage or fun classes such as best condition if that's any relevance? Oh and maybe a clear round to demolish :D)

Hiya

The next Bolton show date is Sunday 23 May. Just google Bolton and District Riding Club and it has all the dates and classes listed.

It's a really friendly show.

Go and enjoy and good luck!

Ahh thank you! He's not been to a show in about 4 years, this owner has never taken him i don't think. I had a good look at them all and i think Westhoughton would be the best, it has lots of arab classes etc. Google informs me it should take about 1 and a half hours to walk, but on a big giddy beast that should probably reduce to just over an hour so might give that a go. It would take the edge off nicely too so we might have some control when we get there lol

Thank you so much! The next posts in the future will be about what to wear, what to do, arg! I get nervous thinking about it!

:D
