Shrewsbury and Shropshire people. Train stations...

A bit of back information.

For Geography AS I have to go on a compulsory field trip. However it over laps my Riding Club Camp. My teacher has said I can leave on the friday evening, instead of the saturday morning when everyone else will go home, so I can go to Camp. The fly in the ointment is I have to get to Camp or atleast my own town to be able to get to Camp. As long as I can sort out transport I can go.

For the geography trip we will be staying at Preston Montford in Shrewsbury. My Camp is being held at Stoner in Wiltshire.

Anyone who knows the area (Shrewsbury) could you please tell me where the nearest train station would be around that area ? Or any other suggestions...

Preston Montford is fairly close to Shrewsbury, so the nearest station would be Shrewsbury itself.

It'd then be best to get a taxi to there, at the time of day you'd be travelling the buses are unlikely to tie in with the vague times you need to get to the station.

I can well imagine it'll be a long journey, as you'll probably need to change at Birmingham.

Okay, the more I know the better . Thanks. I have been to Shewsbury before and from Gloucestershire it took roughly two hours. So to Wiltshire I'm guessing adding on another hour?

Is there any taxi services you'd reccommend ? Thanks.
