I've recently moved to north shropshire due to a new job and am looking to move my horse down in the new year.
Does anyone have any recommendations of livery yards, riding clubs etc?
Many thanks in advance

Where abouts in n Shropshire? I'm near to Whitchurch, there's some good riding clubs within easy travelling, with a variety of activities. Sorry can't help much on the livery front as have my own place, but there are poss others who can reccomend, there are alleays the odd adverts at the local feed merchants with a mixture Of livery yards and private yards with the odd stable to rent - welcome to a fab part of the uk, very horse friendly :)

It's a wonderfull part of Shropshire :) there's a countrywide store in town with a notice board , the have details of livery yards, but hopefully someone can reccommend one on here, I struggled when I first came here, there weren't any really some I managed to buy some land, it was relatively cheap then. Riding clubs are a plenty, depends what you want to do? Tushingham is just outside town, both affiliated and un aff dressage n jumping are available and a couple of good riding clubs frequent there too - maelor is one but I have gone to Telford riding clud for showing this summer with my youngster, very welcomming - and great for baby's :).

Hello Puzzlepiece, Im not too far either !

Tushingham arena is a great place, really nice people, bet they would know of some good local livery yards

Youve also got Hadley XC too, i have only been once a few years ago, but always have a peek when i drive past. Looks like they have done a fair bit to it since i visited.

Im near Oswestry so not too far from you, welcome to Shropshire :) my yard is fab Oswestry E.C. but too far from you :( i think Tushingham may do livery, Barry and Wendy are lovey, also im pretty sure Hadleys XC does livery to but dont know the people. Hope you find a nice yard :)

ooo and just remembered that when i went to Tushingham in Oct, im sure i saw a sign (just as you turn up the lane to Tushingham) for a livery yard, def worth calling Tushinghamas if they dont do livery they may have a number for that yard :)

Hello Im just the other side of Oswestry :0) Also Hello Heavyhorsehugger, I go to Kingswood, Prescott, Netley hall all over the place but I have to travel mile's to get anywhere :(

Welcome to shropshire ;)

Near witchurch there's a place called bramble livery (I think) and I think tushingham arena is excellent.

Places nearer me that I know of are the RDA and another livery yard in yeaton, prescott (if you or any other hhoers are competing here, give me a pm and I'll come and take photos for you; I'm a photography student in that area :p) plattmill stables, oswestry equestrian, netley hall, berriwood and penycoed riding stables.

Never knew there were so many of us around Whitchurch, lol!

OP, Bramble Livery are very good I've heard.http://www.bramble-livery.co.uk/

There is also Edgemere Saddlery at Hampton Heath by Malpas; they're on the industrial estate opposite Hampton Vets and next door is Bernard Corbett who is the best feed firm around locally, stock all the major brands, supplements hay and bedding too.

PP N Shropshire is super friendly !

HELLO to all the w'church people - didn't know so many frequented hho :)

hopefully if it ever dries up a bit I will be able to get about again and discover you all :). Roll on summer !!!!!

I'm the other side of Shropshire but I've heard Hadley farm XC course is very good, as well as tushingham arena, if you google CountryStyle Photography, they go there quite a bit and have loads of photos :)

Another one who didn't realise how many of us were in the Whitchurch area, hello everybody. Some good suggestions already made re yards, a friend has one at Prees Heath but she is full at the moment, there used to be another one in Higher Heath will try and find out if that is still going. There was a new yard advertising on the board in Countrywide, Hadley Hall at Marbury (not to be confused with Hadley Farm) might be worth a look. I have also seen the sign for a livery yard near Tushingham arena. As Maesfen says, Bernard Corbett is reasonable for feed, as are Rowen Barbary on Prees Ind Estate, Countrywide is very pricey, wouldn't be my first choice.
