He's been footsore, but since the farrier came, I'm working on getting him out and about to get things moving - the fields are just too wet for turnout.

Last night i took him for a walk (in his kimblewick, thank god) - all fine on the way out, on the way back, a trailer was behing us, and a tractor in front, and we had full on fireworks...he would have made a mint if we'd been at Appleby ! Both vehicles had to stop while I managed to get him back to the yard, spinning and rearing around me in mock shock (he is bombproof). Thank god I had my hi-vis on, and hubby walking beside me.

Today we rode in the sandschool, and he was going brilliantly, just some gentle stuff. Someone walked past the school, and he was off again, full mock spook, cantering and bucking. I stayed on fine, and had to smile - 5 year old with all that energy to burn ;)

Anyone else having to deal with live wires atm ?

I can only ride in sand school till his boots arrive, so no doubt he'll get bored and settle down....on the other hand, I think he too thinks it's spring. So maybe not.

I love it that he's loving life so much, and that he has such a cheeky personality.

Haha ! That video is excellent - he's certainly got it bad hasn't he :D

Hmmm maybe frisky is the wrong word ?? I did think it could have fruity suggestions..

funny thing is stick him in the field and he just sticks his head down but as soon as you open the school gate he starts to get excited and pull away before i have unclipped him. dopey animal :o

he hasnt tried many of them ridden yet but its probably only a matter of time... im not looking forward to him fruity while ridden!!

Mine are all positively backwards atm. They've all been on 24/7 turn out and not underwater though (thankfully!)

I love the mock spooks. Littlun although spooky tries it frequently with OH, I swear it's a running game between them with her desperate to make him jump and then sulking 'til he does  It's a full blown walk up to him, launch into the air and then wait and see what he does. This then somehow turned into playing fetch with dog toys... I'm sure I should separate them!

Not so sure I'd want it while wedged between tractor and tralier though!

Hahahaha! :D

:D good to see I am not the only one. Mine feels like riding in march or April.

Can only hope we will not go down hill again weather wise. Had enough rain and looking forward cold.

I wish mine was a bit fresh! She's a 5year old ex racer and I've spent so long desensitising her and getting her to chill out that now when we go out she just plods along with her head down, didn't even look at builders, plastic bag blowing around her legs, buses, noisy bin lorries today... Quite worrying I might have a calm, sensible bombproof ex racer, I didn't realise they existed ;)
