Sick and disgusting, breaking a 5 month old in :(

I wasn't disagreeing this is abuse. My point was that if you call or go through the proper channels nothing will be done because the horse wouldn't be in "danger" so to speak.

Honestly naming and shaming as well as people refusing to use this guy as a trimmer and a trainer is the only way they might cop on. But I doubt it as people like this somehow think they're better and know it all. Hopefully after the assured Facebook backlash and people refusing to use this guy they might cop on.

Must be us that need educating then, woman on 5mnth old that she'd be too big for if it was an adult pony = ok

I agree, it's an absolute disgrace. He wouldn't be physically strong enough to buck her off I wouldn't think, shame though, and if he could stick the boot in as she's on her way down!

The pic where she is getting on he looks as if he's about to buckle under her weight, poor little thing.

I just don't know why on earth anyone would want to sit on a foal, it's beyond me really is :(
 
What's with the tying rope around them? What is he trying to achieve by doing this, apart from to strangle the sheath!

The sitting on pics are awful, esp someone of that size/weight, if it was a tiny kid, then thats different imo - although obs not very safe!

The other pics with saddles etc, might just be desensitisation, which is not always a bad thing, isn't there one method of training horses to step through the rungs of a ladder raised to 1ft or so? That raised eyebrows on here too, but is just a way of teaching the horse not to panic if its legs get stuck in something as I understood it, although not something you'd want to teach a jumping horse :)

I wouldn't do it that way myself, but in all bar one of the pics the pony is only wearing a halter, and apart from one photo (same photo) looks pretty unbothered, if a bit confused.

I 'think' - but not entirely sure - that the theory is (as I read the article about him) it will make the horse buck - and it is better that it bucks now than when a rider gets on it! Flabbergasted? Me too!:mad:

Yes, this is a bucking line - although why ON EARTH they would want to encourage it to buck escapes me. But then the whole thing is utterly, completely baffling. Why?

Where I live a Colt = young horse, either male or female, if you are referring to me calling it a colt.:)
