Sickle hock???

Sickle hocks can be serious because of the stress placed on the hocks in performance and because unsoundness can be associated with them. However, it is a conformational defect, initially - and providing the horse is sound at time of vetting shouldn't be a reason to fail - only to note on the report.

I would say absolutely not. My KWPN mare has sickle hocks and yet has a confo score good enough for the Ster predicate.

She is only 5 and time will tell if they affect her but if a horse is sound then sickle hocks should not cause a fail.
