After everything looking like its been going very well with Sids recovery from his fractured leg it might be not so good again.
Hubby lunged him last night (as per vet advice) and he looked stiff in the injured leg. Not hoping lame just stiff. No sign of it in walk but there was just something there in trot.
He'd been hooning up and down his little paddock last night when we arrived so we're hoping he'd just pulled himself a little bit.
Bl**dy horse!! I knew it was all going too well

He had his front shoes put back on on tuesday morning - could that have caused anything? He's not had shoes on for 8 weeks.

How long ago did he fracture his leg? I would think a horse would appear quite stiff for a while after this type of injury (as surely we would too) as they willhave been favouring this leg for a good long time so getting it back working again and building up the muscle is surely going to be fine.

I would think a fracture site and the surrounding supporting muscles would take a long time to get back to being 100%. if it's just stiffness i wouldn't be too worried, wuld think more schooling and gentle work would soon help loosen up and improve muscle in the area.

I still get stiff where I snapped my collar bone and that was over a year ago! If the horse isn't actually appearing in pain i wouldn't be overly concerned.
