Side effects of Regumate? Grumpiness?

My mare has been on Regumate for 6 months due to having pain when she was ovulating behind the saddle. That has gone now, but all summer she has had on and off behaviours.

She was always very sweet with other horses, well now she is extremely grumpy with other horses, especially ridden. If they come near her, or look at her she will pin her ears and puff herself up. Its rather aggressive! I can feel her almost grow a inch when she does it. She has also been extremely sensitive to touch on her girth area (and sometimes random places) for the last couple of months, she will reacts the same as she does to other horses - ears pinned, turn, snap at me. She can be similar in the field.

She was scoped, vet found 2 minute ulcers. She has been on ulcer treatment for 10 days now. It has made no difference so far, time off work makes no difference either. Physio found no soreness in the muscles there. The behaviour can be there in the morning, gone by afternoon, there isn't any pattern at all which makes me question ulcers.

She was never like this prior to the Regumate, everyone I rode with would think she was a gelding!

I'm starting to wonder if it could be a side effect of Regumate, like humans on Progesterone can have side effects. Mood changes, belly cramp.

Just wondered if anyone else had experience behavioural changes with their mares while on Regumate? My vet is calling me today, so going to ask if he has any experience of it.
