Sidesaddle fitting

A friend is emigrating and has offered me her sidesaddle at a bargain price, which is just the spur I need to consider taking up sidesaddle!

Can anyone recommend a sidesaddle fitter in the Cheshire/Greater Manchester area? Preferably somebody who'd be able to help with selling it on if it doesn't fit.

And is anyone able to give me an idea of how easy it would be to sell on? It's an Owen, probably late 1910s/early 1920s, and does need a little bit of work.

You could try your local sidesaddle group? I cannot remember which area it is, but the one local to Manchester were so helpful to me when I dabbled, from try it out days, loaning saddles + habits for a show etc, they would be a super starting point!

Looked it up and I think it was area 11 that I joined .

Reaseheath used to do side saddle lessons and presumably still do- might be worth asking them

Agree with HP. Well worth asking your Local Area for recommendations. There aren't that many specialist fitters about.

I'd have a look on the Side Saddle Association website to check and see who to contact.
