It has come to the attention of the beagle owning community that a New York based company has purchased a Uk vivisection breeder & has now lodged a planning application to build four units to breed beagles for vivsection (means live cutting up) If permission is granted many thousands of beagles will be bred & sent to the laboratories & their fate. Please sign if you feel you can. I have also posted this on the Dog related threads.

I hope I have done this right as I am not brill on the computer, but I have tried.
 
I've just tried it the petitions site comes up, then you click on petitions, a list comes up of petitions & you click on the beagles one. But I admit I'm hopeless.
 
It's very sad to think of animals suffering but do you know what they will be used for? If it's something unnecessary like make up testing then fair dos but if they are in medical research for say a cancer drug then animal trials are required. If that's the case surely they are better to be in this country where we have strict controls, vet supervision etc? If you prevent them from breeding here they'll just go to another country like China or somewhere and conditions will be much worse :-(. On a related note did you know "dermatologically tested" has no legal definition, it means different things to different companies and is not the same as 'animal friendly'.
