signing over horse form

Has anyone ever had there loan horse signed over and no money exchanged even a £ 1 or signed over there horse and not wanted a pound just filled a form out?

In the past after I'd loaned a horse for a couple of years the owner gave me the horse I think the only exchange was over email they no longer felt in position to own horse, no money but no form either only evidence would have been email exchange.

Not something I'd recommend but an example without money changing hands.

I hope this helps.
I had a horse, initially he was going to be given to me by the owner, because she couldn't manage him or afford him, but then she pulled a bit of a fast one & presented me with a loan contract. I signed it all just for an easy life (& thought at least if it didn't work out I could send him back)
2 years later, owner made herself a bit of a pest regarding the horse (can go into more detail on PM if you want) & I was fed up of the situation. So I sent her an email terminating the loan agreement & starting the correct period of notice as per the contract.
Owner panicked & replied apologising & claiming they couldn't take the horse back, no where to keep it, couldn't afford it, couldn't manage it, didn't know what to do. I told them her options were to find another home or give him to me.
She agreed via email & a text message to give him to me. I attempted to give her a £1 & get a receipt but she became elusive & I didn't hear from her again.

12 months later I hear from the local grapevine that she has told people the horse is still on loan to me & she is going to start visiting him to check up on his care & some of the other interfering stuff she did previously.
When I contacted her to remind her she had given the horse to me she claimed as there was no contract for the transfer of ownership but there was for the loan, the solicitor she had seen had told her only the loan agreement stood.
I took my own legal advice who seemed to think differently & that the texts & emails I had giving the horse to me would be proof of transfer of ownership.
A letter was sent to her & it appeared to work as she cut all contact.

I have one for Fatty it gives his description his passport number and chip details and says that his owner passes the ownership of the horse to me in full and has no further interest in the horse and I have her full permission to PTS the horse at any time without contacting her ( he was very ill at the time ) .

I don't understand. If the owner won't take a quid and give you a receipt for it, then they won't sell the horse, will they? And they won't sign any contact passing ownership of the horse, will they?

It doesn't matter how cloak and dagger this is, you can't impose a transfer of ownership from one side.

If the owner is willing, the wording is simple. If the owner isn't willing, the wording is irrelevant.

So could we possibly stop the Sherlock Holmes stuff now :D ? Though I will admit it's very entertaining.

It maybe entertaining for you, I am glad your amused, but this is my life and a real life issue, those who did want to help pm'ed me and they now understand fully what is going on and are understanding.

I will not and I have said this a few times air everything on a forum like this where everything I have worked for and achieved so far with this mare will go tumbling around me.

Things are not always as they seem on here, sometimes members have to go incognito to ask for help on a personal matter or they cannot express the full story in the open forum but will explain in pm to a selected few.

Thank you all those who pm'ed me with advice and previous experiences, along with those who helped on here. :)

If the owner won't sell you a horse you have been loaning for a pound to gift it to you, then no bit of paper however worded is going to help. The words are very simple.

If you need help with the situation, you need to explain what the situation is. And if you can't do that, you maybe should have kept this whole thing to PM with a few people you trust.

You don't need help with any wording, it's perfectly obvious that a dated receipt for one pound for 'horse name' will do the trick.

But if your problem is that you can't get the seller to acknowledge the sale, no bit of paper is going to do you a blind bit of good, is it? I am still at a loss to know why you started this thread if you need this issue kept under wraps.

I hope you get it sorted.

I've been brought up to date. Just extend the 'loan'.

As I said I could not put all the details on the open forum, and did not think it would have cause this confusion, to be fair I did say pm me for more details as I wanted to let other like minded lonee's input which I don't know many

So I guess someone filled you in then :)
