I'm constructing a small extension to my manege at the moment, which will be surfaced with sand and rubber. The Kings Lynn quarry that I had excellent sand from before seems to be closed at the moment. I've had a quote from Mansfield Sand for their equestrian silica sand. Has anyone used this and what is it like? Anywhere else anyone would reccomend? I'm in Lincolnshire. Thank you.

Many years ago I used to ride on a Mansfield sand arena. The sand was great, but the fibre that it was mixed with soon separated and made little bunny-like families in the corners of the school. When it was windy the 'bunnies' would run across the arena and cause mayhem

Thank you. It will be topped with rubber, the same as my existing surface. Have enough problems with my current rabbit population without importing fibre ones!
