hi i am renting a yard which has a 20x40 silica sand school which i am responsible for maintaining does any one no where i can get some delivered in the south east or any thing that i can mix with the sand thanks

What you mix in with it will depend on what is wrong with it in the first place and how much money you want to spend on it (especially on a yard you are renting).

Is it riding too deep? That is a common problem, the cheapest solution is to water and level it regularly. There are various products in the market which help make the sand firmer like Clopf, or Flexiride (I think that is what it is called!), but they all cost a lot of money you may not want to spend on a rented school.

You mention adding more sand which seems to suggest that the sand it too shallow rather than too deep. If you have good quality silica sand you should top it up with the same, so if you get in touch with the people who put the school in they should be able to advise you on what they used. However again this is likely to be very expensive.

I have to say that I would class levelling, watering and repairing the fence as maintenance the tenant should do, but I would cconsider adding sand or other surfaces as something the owner of the yard should be responsible for.

Try Aggregate Industries UK Ltd - they have sand quarries in Essex and Bedfordshier and specifically produce menage sand. They may be a little cheaper than menage specialists because you're cutting out the middle man - but they may not be able to offer advice - being a quarrying company not a menage specialist.
