Silicone on your breeches/jodhpurs? Does it help?

I have a pair of Pikeur ones which I like but bought a pair of Ariat that were so sticky that I stuck to the saddle when I first got on and couldn't move into the correct position - and also caused chaffing whilst riding!! Now it maybe that's because my seat isn't secure enough so I was moving too much but haven't had that problem with anything else so I got rid of them. I also found that they marked the saddle.
I do like some extra grip so have gone back to suede seat breeches which seem to give the right balance for me.

I like them and now feel slippery if they don't have anything. However I don't like the really shiny rubbery patches, I have some everyday Horze ones and some Cavallo for best which give me grip without being too sticky.

I never liked suede seats as found them quite restrictive and I couldn't move properly though recently I tried some with very thin stretchy suede which were OK.

Definitely depends on the suede or faux suede, and also the material of the rest of the pants. If you have thick stiff suede and a pant material with not so much stretch, they'll be hell to ride in. They also need to be the right shape. Some are really straight cut, while others are more curvy, have more hip and thigh room. I think with the silicone breeches there is more leeway so they're more apt to fit a variety of shapes and sizes.

I took some screenshots of some of the different types of sticky I've come across

This is the shiny rubbery stuff in big patches. Ive got some decathalon ones with knee patches like this and it's too sticky. I've seen this sort of stuff on a bottom and you wouldn't be able to move.

Then I have some Horze ones which have silicon pimples which aren't as sticky and find these give you grip while allowing movement.

Am I the only one that really doesn't care for them? ?

I don't like feeling stuck to the saddle or anything sticky. They also stick to the leather seats in my car. I hate the way they feel when posting. I do like that they are less material compared to some of the suede seat ones, so they can feel cooler in the warmer weather. I just wear the ones I have for hacking since we do a lot of walking or some cantering (so no posting trot, really). I've tried a few styles and patterns.

It's actually becoming difficult to find good quality full seats that aren't silicone. The ones I do have are mostly Pikeur.

If I'm going to fall off, I don't know if silicone will save me, tbh. But if it makes some feel more secure, than why not I suppose.
Nope, I can't bear them either. I like a bit of freedom and don't like to feel I'm leaving my breeches behind in the saddle when riding . They also make getting in and out of the car pretty tricky too. My heart sinks when buying new breeches as these silicone seats are all you can get ?
