Ok so totally silly post but I just had an urge to clip a love heart or 2 :P on my poor ponios butt.
Has anyone else disfigured their horse/pony in such a hideous manner? Over winter he is just a happy hack but want to go to parties next spring. Dya think it will grow out properly I would hate to have silly shadows..lol!
Talk me out of it someone..

Pics please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No pictures but a girl at my yard has hearts on her horse, one on his bum another on his shoulder and one on his cheek...I think they look stupid but I'm a traditional hunter clip it kinda gal ;)

I've clipped ghosts and pumpkins for halloween shows, xmas trees and snowmen for xmas shows, and other general things such as shooting stars, love hearts, lightning flashes and even a for sale notice.

I hasten to add that these were all on ponies for kids or for teeneagers with horses doing PC type stuff.... BUT... if you are an adult and you want to do this and have a fun show etc, the GO FOR IT.

For most of us, our horses are for FUN and to make us SMILE. They and their enjoyment are what working and earning the cash to pay for them is all about, so don;t feel you can't do something daft just because of other people!

When you next clip, the marks vanish too, or if you don't leave it on very long, you can just clip off the excess you left. If you deeply clip (almost to skin to leave a real impression 'in' rather than working on a 'negative' and leaving bits unclipped ~ hope this makes sense ~ then it takes a bit longer to go as you have clipped deeper than you would with a standard clip.

Enjoy what you do and hopefully people will smile with you at shows if you do something funny or jazzy! :-)

Then make your own for free out of plastic or card and draw a chalk outline. Those miniclippers (blade about 2cms long) which are meant for whiskers etc are great for the fiddly bits!

Here's a few I've clipped. The Stencils are from my dads website www.StencilBum.co.uk :)

I like some of the designs you can get, I think they look really cute on ponies though! Or when they match a horse e.g. the person who said a horse called sailor with an anchor!

One of my Ponies has 'Spots' all over her - I hasten to add that this was part of a Pony Club evening where the kids had to draw their own designed clip on to the pony with chalks - I then had 10mins to clip it out ! - I can't get piccs on here but if anyone wants to see her click on the Pony Club Page on www.bretfortonequestrian.co.uk. She is now sporting her spots in her lessons and I am now thinking - Children in need has a 'spots; theme so possibly could do something for fund raising - any ideas ?

My 7 year daughters Sec A has lightening stipes clipped into his bum, she wanted hearts but Jeff the pony is more of a lightening kind of chap!

Thankyou!! It's loads better now it's been changed around. Have you found it easy to use? :)

I'm not sure if I'm seeing the new website? The last one I remember viewing had lots of pictures of "templates in action" so to speak - the one my computer brings up looks rather simple and template based (as in, you've seen the layout before) and very hard to navigate?
