BV jumped out of the field today, leaving PB behind to fret. I discovered him trotting back down to the yard and shouted 'what do you think you are doing. At which point he did and about turn, trotted back to the field and jumped back in!! Daft Hoss!

lol my horse would be like that. He goes into his stable at come in time and will stand with his head looking around the corner for his dinner. Sometimes he will walk a few steps on and i say "excuse me!" and he will back track fast!

Haha, brilliant.

My old mare chucked me in the forest once. I was clever and cut through, but not quite quick enough on my feet. When I got to the road, I was about 100yards behind her on a single track lane with huge hedges. She was trotting down the hill, stirrups and reins swinging and a car came around the bed at the bottom of the hill. Teasle, trotted on to the passing place, pulled in, stopped, the car kind of passed but wasn't sure what to do, but I waved them forward. When they passed her, she trotted out of the passing place and took a right into the yard at the bottom of the hill.

Stupid or clever...I still can't decide 20 years later :)

Horses never fail to make me smile. I was having a down day yesterday, then he did this. PB was so confused as to where he had gone and how he got out. Bless her, i'm dreading the day she follows him.

Love this thread! I took a bad fall in the school recently and instead of bolting back to the yard (which apparently he normally does - my first fall off him), he stood there and bellowed down to the yard like he was calling for help.

My old girl seemed to have an in-built mechanism which meant as soon as i left the saddle she would stop dead and not move until i was back on...and i used to fall of a lot xc so it wasn't just a random occurence

i think i was about 10/11 when she did a flying change around a corner out of site which i wasn't expecting and i ended up hanginhg from the stirrup she went from flat out gallop to ahalt in a flash and didn't move for a good 10 mins whlst i sorted myself out...i was very lucky as it was part of the course which was completely out if site
