silly question bout weights

you know when a horse/pony is described has `light weight` or heavy weight` ect,does this mean the build of the horse?,how much it weights? OR how much it can carry?
just wondering....will prob look daft question in morning.

Not sure, but I think it's to do with bone size and weight it can carry.

Don't know, but when my old cob 1st went out with electric tape, he wouldn't eat from a haynet when he came back in!!

Think heavy weight cobs are supposed to be able to carry 14st, not sure about light weights.

Middleweight hunters have to be able to carry 12st 7lbs -14st, I believe.

oh i do like stones more than metric,i know where i am.
i have a light weight cob who weights 74 stone.i think she looks good at the moment.
