Well i feed my horse hi fi lite and i was told at my new yard i should put water in it because she could get choke from having it dry. However before that i always used to feed it dry and never had any problems. Wouldnt having it wet make it more likely for her to get choke from it? So is it best to feed it dry or wet? Plz help because i'm really confused lol! Thanks

Feed wet as less likely to choke (horses make it wet with saliva when chewing before they swallow, but if swallowed dry can stick in throat like all feeds if bolted).

Yup always fed it wet or in my lads case sloppy. He likes it like porridge.I should imagine it takes a bit of doing to eat it dry like us eating dry crackers.

I add speedibeet to mine during the winter but summer, it's fed dry. In reality they shouldn't choke on it as essentially it is just chopped hay & straw ...... but if they bolt it then there is always the possibilty of choke as with any feed on the market..
