silly question re bandages

is there any reason why you cant do xc in exercise bandages if they are secured with bandage tape? I have some exercise bandages that I like to use but want to know if I can do xc in them? They are not the fleece version so shouldnt be too heavy when wet.will they provide enough support or will they make his legs too hot????

I am not sure if there is a rule or anything. I would be concerned that if they caught at all they wont tear off like boots but could cause some serious issues?

Too hot and no strike protection so they wouldn't be on my list. I'd rather use nothing at all or something with proper tendon protection
