Silly question re Girths

I need to buy a new girth. Well, actually I just fancy an elasticated one! My current one is 52" from end to end including buckles, but only 47" not including the buckles.

I'm having a brain strain - which measurement do I buy? Thanks!

Buckle to buckle. The total length of the girth.

Not necessarily - some companies measure end of girth to end of girth, some measure girth pin to girth pin and some measure to from start of buckle to start of buckle. So you will need to ask the question when you are buying.

Different companies seem to do it differently. I have one 46inch that barely does up onto the first hole, and another 46inch that will go 4 holes up on each side!

girths with elastic at one end only have a tendency to allow slippage, try one with elastic at both ends
